My 3 Favorite Fashion Brands

Australia has an array of labels, some established, some up & coming, I like shopping for clothes & accessories just like a lot of people but you wouldn’t say I’m a shopaholic, I’m more of a ‘I like & should I buy’ kind of gal. Today I’m going to share with you my 3 favourite labels that I always buy from or have previously bought from.

Nancybird is a Melbourne based label. Emily Wright started Nancybird in 2002 from a backyard workshop just producing bags & purses and eventually diverse into clothing, shoes & home. The reason I like this label, apart from it being local are their bags, the very first bag I bought from them was unique, the inner fabric was different & so was the design. I love bags that are a bit quirky but not too much. I love the materials used.

Country Road
This is another label that has been around for a while. Also a local label, they started out in 1974 as a niche women’s shirting business & over the years evolved as a lifestyle brand for women, men, children & home. Let you in a a little secret, tend to buy stuff from Country Road when they have sales or I get a voucher, even applied for a job there but alas didn’t get it. They have a unique Australian feel, simple yet not too over the top.

This last one is not remotely Australian but Japanese. Uniqlo is a clothing company, which was originally founded in Yamaguchi, Japan in 1949 as a textiles manufacturer. The name comes from the words ‘unique’ and ‘clothing’ The reason I like Uniqlo are that they are fairly priced, designs are simple, they last, they collaborate with other designers like Ines de la Fressange, so you can get the designer feel without the high price & it’s available to everyone.
